From the first time we met Isabel and Luke we knew they were the perfect photographers for the job! They really listened to what we wanted and kept everything low stress! They know how to perfectly blend into the background while you get ready so you can relax with your bridal party with out feeling the pressure of being photographed. Having Luke as a second photographer was great because he just became one of the guys with the groomsmen and made all the men feel comfortable getting ready before the ceremony.

Up until about 2 hours before my wedding I thought I wanted to do a first look and then changed my mind onthe spot, they are so flexible and made me feel like it was perfectly normal to change everyone's plans hours before the big event! They are so good at what they do we even had time to go to our cocktail hour, which was a request of Todd's.

To this day people still talk about how amazing the photogrpahy is from our wedding. Down to every last detail Isabel knows how to get the perfect shot. The grass, the sun, random animals on the farm, everything became a proper and added so much perfection to the already perfect day!

They say that your wedding photographer is the most important purchase of your wedding, because your pictures are what last forever. With that idea in mind, I looked at virtually every photographer in Northern Virginia before finally sitting down with Luke and Isabel. We felt so comfortable with them, laughing about some of the crazy stressors that go into wedding planning, and talking seriously about why marriage matters.

The day of my wedding dawned bright and early, the most perfect day. Isabel came to photograph the girls while Luke ran off with the guys, all smiles and sunshine and excitement. We made it to the first look, and they both made us feel so comfortable and natural (because, let's be honest, what's more natural than stolen kisses on the morning of your wedding? Definitely kissing with photographers hiding in the trees behind you, calling out, "a little to the left!" But again, that's because Luke and Isabel made the whole process so incredibly fun). We got some great shots of the bridal party all together, then went into hiding while the guests began arriving.

Moments before my big debut, the coordinator informed me that we had two back to back thunderstorms about to strike and literally rain on my parade. I made the call to move inside, and before I knew it, my people were running chairs to the covered pavilion, and I watched the rain wash away the beautiful setup I had designed for us to say those vows that would bind us for life.

What I didn't know was that in the middle of the chaos of moving inside and the indoor backup flooding (twice!), Luke and Isabel never missed a beat. They readjusted their lenses and prepped to get pictures in a dingy pavilion, with no preplanned lighting or pretty, twinkly lights. I walked down the aisle to meet my husband, memorizing every small detail in my mind, prepared to live the moment once and never see it again.

A month later, Isabel emailed me the link to the pictures, and I was absolutely blown away. We scrolled through page after page of beautiful picture, remembering the day, laughing about the rain, enjoying each shot. Everyone looked so good! All of the drama had turned into a fairytale! Remember the time it rained so, so hard on our wedding day? You can't even tell it was a nightmare, because the pictures looked like a dream.

The evening of January 6th, 2012 began with dinner at Zengo, one of our all-time favorite restaurants. After enjoying our ahi tuna wonton tacos and a bottle of red wine, Luke mentioned he had the camera and tripod in the car and he thought it would be special to drive where we first met and take a picture. I was thrilled with the idea! Once at the memorial, he turned the camera on and got on one knee to ask if I would be his wife. Tears of joy fell from my eyes knowing I was going to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.

I never thought I would meet my future husband when I was asked to help shoot a wedding. The wedding took place at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC and nine months later at the exact same place I was saying "yes."
